Chowdhury Mueen Uddin dedicated over four decades to public service and grassroots community organisations.
Before formal retirement, he served as Director of Muslim Spiritual Care Provision in the NHS, where he advised healthcare providers on spiritual care delivery to patients. During his tenure, he was elected chair of the Multi-Faith Group for Healthcare Chaplaincy, overseeing nine world faith groups including Anglican (Church of England), Roman Catholic, Free Churches, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain.

Born in Bangladesh, Chowdhury Mueen Uddin studied Literature at the University of Dhaka. He began his professional journey as a journalist, where he reported on significant events including the Great 1970 Cyclone and interviewed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the emerging independence leader of Bangladesh.
